    Trainer (Data Analysis and Visualization Tools)

    GLOTECH, Inc. seeks a Trainer (Data Analysis and Visualization Tools) to join our current team. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.





    This position provides stand-up classroom training and eLearning in data literacy and Department of State (DOS)-specific knowledge management to a diverse cross-section of DOS employees (Foreign Service, Civil Service, and Locally Employed Staff) working across a wide range of functional duties within the Department.


    Specifically, the Trainer (Data Analysis and Visualization Tools) will perform the following work responsibilities, on a regular basis: 

    1. Teaches courses.
    2. Sets up classroom and/or online training environments, which include setting up computers, virtual labs, instructional materials, and communicating with students in advance of the class.
    3. Exercises excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written, and presents state of the art training concepts and methodologies using Department of State delivery technology to students within the Department and other government agencies.
    4. Provides adult-oriented, technical training using training methods and behavior sciences associated with adult education instruction.
    5. Attends special seminars and training, to gather information for exercise and curriculum development and presentations.
    6. Consults with customers, analyzes requirements, and develops, revises, and/or adapts instruction materials to meet the functional needs of DOS employees.
    7. Updates curricula and courseware for courses as required to meet industry and DOS standards.
    8. Designs and participates in workshops, seminars, and review sessions both in person and online.
    9. Serves as The Lead Instructor in the development and revision of training, choosing the most appropriate COTS course material.
    10. Designs online and classroom seminars and workshops to meet the needs of specialized users as needed.
    11. Provides one-on-one tutoring and review sessions for students from time-to-time to augment classroom and online training, to include responding to student questions submitted after classes have concluded.

    Qualification Requirements:

    • 2+ years of professional work experience training adult learners in data analysis and visualization tools such as, but no limited to: Microsoft Excel and Power BI, R, Python, and Tableau.
    • Must be able to travel to domestic and overseas locations to conduct training.
    • Strong foundation in data literacy concepts to include not only experience teaching these concepts, but educational and working-level experience performing data analysis (cleaning data, identifying patterns and statistical analysis of data sets, and presentation of data analysis through any of the software tools mentioned below and/or training in business intelligence, storytelling with data, design, or User Experience fields).
    • Certifications (either current or must be obtained within first 90 days of start date) - Certification in Microsoft Exam: 70-778 “Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Power BI” and Certification in Microsoft Exam: 70-779 “Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Excel”.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance
