Responsibilities

GLOTECH, Inc. is seeking a Mechanics / Shipfitters to join our team in Chesapeake, VA.   These role will require working onboard various class U.S. Navy ships.

 

  • Performs layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, operation, modification, repair, and testing of components, materials and equipment.
  • Inspects assemblies and installations for conformance with specifications, using measuring instruments such as tape measurer, calipers, scales and micrometer.
  • Sets up and operates soldering and welding equipment to join metal parts.
  • Support removal and installation of foundations, cabling & cableways, equipment, sheet metal, ventilation systems, housings and a variety of C5I system components and their sub-systems.
  • Fabricates and assembles new or modified components or assemblies.
  • Evaluates the form, fit and function of components and equipment for adherence to project objectives.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and a minimum of one year related experience.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, written or oral instructions, and other technical documents.
  • Must have the basic tools of the trade.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
