Responsibilities

GLOTECH, Inc. is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the corporate office of United Parks & Resorts located in Orlando, FL. This position will be responsible for using knowledge and experience to design, develop, test, and maintain computer software and applications in support of our corporate initiatives. Our typical applications will support in-park and corporate based team members such as network and database needs, point of sale requirements, back-office IT support and infrastructure, ticketing and payments, and other digital-based services.

 

  • Design, code, implement, and maintain software applications in support of SeaWorld objectives
  • Assist and adhere to defined coding standards
  • Facilitate and support proper technology selection to support the technical needs of project initiatives
  • Collaborate with the architecture team to design and build effective solutions
  • Mentor and support development team members in writing effective and efficient code, performing code reviews, and upholding development standards
  • Directly contribute to source repositories following appropriate branch, pull request, and merge strategies
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • College degree in Software Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five years’ experience as a software engineer; 7-10 years’ experience without a degree
  • Extensive knowledge of industry standard programming languages such as C#, Python, Java, C, or C++
  • Robust experience with source control tools (ex. Git), build and deployment pipelines (ex. Jenkins, ADO), CI/CD practices, and test automation (unit, integration, performance, and functional)
  • Expert in software development and computer operating systems
  • Proficient in algorithm analysis, complexity, and performance estimation
  • Ability to apply software engineering best practices to deliver effective and maintainable solutions following an Agile methodology
  • Ability to debug, trace, and evaluate software and systems
  • Ability to design, code, and deploy scalable solutions using industry standard patterns such as microservices, service-oriented architectures, and domain driven design principles.
  • Demonstrates ownership of delivered software solutions.
  • Proactively evaluates production software, remediates defects, identifies and addresses performance concerns, and develops high quality, production ready software
  • Self-starter able to drive work to completion and ensure user acceptance
  • Experience with secrets and configuration management a plus
  • Leadership and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Good presentation skills; able to present to all levels of an organization
  • Must be available to work onsite in Orlando, FL
